About This Object
- A small replica of the Aztec Sun Stone. The original sculpture is 141 inches in diameter, 93 inches thick, and weighs 54,210 pounds. It is on display in the National Anthropology Museum in Mexico City.
Curious Facts
The sculpture commemorates the five creations of Aztec belief. The four squares around the central figure represent the previous four creations, and the square at the top represents the current, fifth creation.
