About This Object
- The horn of a Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep (Ovis canadensis canadensis).
Collected from near the North Platte River, Wyoming during the Baylor Fossil Field Expedition in 1899.
Curious Facts
Both male and female bighorn sheep grow horns. These horns are not shed and continue to grow throughout the animal's life.
