About This Object
- Twenty-one Tuareg crosses, each style representing a different clan or province.
Collected in Africa by Minette Pratt while serving on the Foreign Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.
Curious Facts
The Tuareg people live in the Sahara. The geometrical designs on the crosses are protective symbols passed down from their Berber ancestors. The Tuareg believe the crosses will disperse all evil from the individual and cast it to the four corners of the earth.
