Golden-mantled ground squirrel

Collected in Carbon Co., Wyoming in 1989 by Richard T. Wiedenmann.

The golden-mantled ground squirrel is an omnivore. It will eat pine nuts, acorns, herbs and shrubs, fungi, many kinds of insects, eggs, young birds, lizards, carrion, and human foods when available.
